Phenomena of oil consumption of the generator set
When the oil consumption of diesel generator set is too large, some abnormal phenomena will appear. Through these abnormal phenomena, the user can judge whether the oil consumption of the generator set is large.
There is metal friction sound in supercharger of diesel generating sets.
The radial and axial runout of the turbine rotor assembly is too large, and the blades of the turbine and impeller rub with the turbine shell and impeller shell, resulting in metal friction sound. When the turbocharger works normally, due to the high-speed rotation of the turbine rotor, there will also be a rotating sound. If the inlet and exhaust ports are not connected properly, the sound of air leakage will be generated. In practice, we should pay attention to the differential judgment.
The exhaust smoke is blue, but the power is not reduced.
This is caused by the oil entering the combustion chamber from the turbocharger and the intake pipe of the diesel engine. It may be that the oil return pipe of the supercharger is blocked, and the oil flows into the impeller along the rotor shaft after the oil is accumulated too much at the middle support of the rotor assembly; or it may be that after the sealing ring or oil slinger ring at one end of the impeller is damaged, the oil enters the impeller chamber and enters the combustion chamber with the pressurized air through the air inlet pipe for secondary combustion. Open the compressor outlet or diesel engine intake straight pipe (rubber hose) to see if there is oil adhered to the pipe orifice and pipe wall. If there is oil, check whether the oil return pipe of diesel generator set is smooth. If it is not smooth, the fault is caused by excessive oil accumulation at the middle support, and the oil return pipe should be dredged and reassembled; if it is unblocked, the fault is caused by the damage of the sealing ring or oil slinger ring at one end of the impeller.
The color of exhaust smoke is normal and the power does not decrease.
This situation is generally caused by oil leakage. It is necessary to check whether there is oil leakage from the external oil pipes (including the inlet and return pipes of supercharger) of generator set. If there is no oil leakage, disassemble and check the exhaust gas outlet of turbocharger. If there is oil trace, replace the sealing ring near the turbine end.
The exhaust pipe of generating set emits blue smoke or black smoke and the power is reduced.
The first reason is that the clearance between the piston group and the cylinder is too large, and the oil flows into the combustion chamber for combustion; the second is that during the process of air intake by the supercharger, the air flow encounters great resistance, and the pressure at the compressor inlet is too low, and the oil enters the combustion chamber together with the compressed air through the compressor. At the same time, due to the lack of air into the combustion chamber and incomplete combustion, the exhaust pipe emits black smoke. Check the intake pipe. If there is oil in the pipe orifice and pipe wall, the air filter is blocked. Otherwise, the air flow is blocked in the intake pipe or other places.
