How to avoid diesel generator fuel tank failure?
Some diesel generator sets in the market have different phenomena when they are used. Different types of diesel generator sets have different fuel tank designs. Through the failure analysis of the fuel tanks of different types of diesel generator sets, it is concluded that diesel power generation is avoided. Several major precautions for the failure of the fuel tank of the unit will be explained to you.
1. The storage position of the oil tank must be safe to prevent fire, the oil tank or the oil drum shall be placed in the visible place separately, and the oil tank or the oil drum shall be located at the far point of the diesel generator set, and no smoking is strictly required;
2. If the fuel tank is made by the user himself, it should be noted that the fuel tank of the reserve diesel generator set should be made of stainless steel or steel plate. Do not spray paint or galvanize the fuel tank because they will react with the diesel oil. Produce impurities that may cause damage to diesel generator sets and reduce diesel quality, cleanliness and combustion efficiency;
3. After the oil tank is placed, the maximum oil level shall not be 2.5 meters higher than the base of a diesel generator set. If the oil level of a large oil depot is more than 2.5 meters, the daily fuel tank shall be added between the large oil depot and the diesel generator set. The pressure of direct oil delivery is not more than 2.5 m. Even during the shutdown of a diesel generator set, fuel is not allowed to flow into the diesel engine by gravity through the intake line or the fuel injection line;
4. The resistance at the oil opening shall not exceed the specified values for the use of clean filters specified in all diesel generator performance data sheets. This resistance value is based on half of the fuel in the fuel tank.
5. At the end of the fuel supply pipe of the fuel tank, the seal should be higher than that at the bottom of the fuel tank of a diesel generator unit. Generally speaking, when the engine has about a third of the load, the seal will function fully, and a slight leakage may occur when the load hours are small. Otherwise, the following failures may occur:
A. Piston-cylinder sleeve seal is not good, oil on the channeling, combustion into the combustion chamber, exhaust blue smoke.
B. For turbocharged diesel engine, due to low load, no load, low supercharged pressure. Easy to lead to the turbocharger oil seal (non-contact type) seal effect decline, oil into the booster chamber, along with the intake into the cylinder.
C. a part of the oil flowing to the cylinder is involved in the combustion, a part of the oil can not be fully combusted, a carbon deposit is formed at the valve, the air inlet, the piston top, the piston ring and the like, and a part of the oil is discharged with the exhaust gas, and the carbon deposit is accumulated or formed in the exhaust pipe, when the accumulated oil and carbon deposit to a certain extent, flow out from the interface of the exhaust manifold;
D. The booster chamber oil accumulates to a certain extent, it will leak out from the combination surface of the supercharger.
E. Long term low load operation will lead to more serious wear and tear of moving parts, deterioration of engine combustion environment and so on, which will lead to the early overhaul period.
Solution: use should reduce the low load / no load operation time, and the minimum load should not be lower than the unit rated power of 25-30.
